SEOWIG meets the third Monday of even months at 7 pm. The group usually meets at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources building located at 360 E State Street in Athens. However, occasionally there are field trips, so please check before attending.

The objectives of the group are:

  • To foster an appreciation of woodlands and related resources
  • To encourage through education a conservation program for multiple use of our forests and woodlands, development of adequate water supplies and preservation of wildlife.
  • To develop and make available information concerning the value and needs of woodland ownership and management to members and to the public.
  • To provide members with information and technical assistance in the planning, managing and use of their forest.
